📚 OWL Fest
This past week, our students participated in OWL Fest (Opportunities with Literacy) in partnership with the Tennessee Department of Education and GELF. OWL Fest is a specially curated one-day bookstore experience for schools, educators, or families at no cost. Every student at OKE had the opportunity to choose books to take home, supporting their love of reading and their growth as lifelong learners.

🛡 Intruder Drill – Oct. 10
On Thursday, October 10, our school will conduct an Intruder Drill. This practice drill helps prepare students and staff to stay safe in the unlikely event of an intruder on campus. We always approach these drills calmly and age-appropriately to ensure our students feel secure while learning important safety procedures.

📱 New Cell Phone Policy
Beginning October 1, the new Hamilton County Schools cell phone policy goes into effect. Student devices must remain off, stored, and out of sight during the school day. The district will share additional details, but we are thankful for your support. Violations have been rare here at OKE thanks to our strong partnership with families.

👕 Uniform Reminder
All students are expected to be in uniform Monday through Friday, unless the school sends home a message about a special day. Uniforms help us create a safe, unified, and distraction-free learning environment. Thank you for ensuring your child comes to school ready to learn each day!
