Get Ready for a Great School Year at Our Back-to-School Event!

Orchard Knob Elementary families are invited to join us for an exciting afternoon of free services, family activities, community resources and back-to-school preparation. This special event is designed to help our students feel confident, supported and ready for a successful school year.

Presented by For the Culture, the Back-to-School Event will bring families, school staff, community organizations and local partners together on the Orchard Knob Elementary campus.

Back-to-School Event Details

Date Saturday, August 1 Bring the entire family!
Time 1:00–4:00 p.m. Come early for the best availability.
Location Orchard Knob Elementary School Services are free for participating families.

Free Services and Activities

Families will be able to connect with helpful services and enjoy a variety of activities throughout the afternoon. Planned offerings include:

Free Haircuts

Students can receive a fresh haircut as they prepare to return to school looking and feeling their best.

Free Hairstyles

Hairstyling services will also be available to help students begin the year with confidence.

Free Book Bags

A limited number of book bags will be distributed to help students carry their school supplies and materials.

Activities for Kids

Children can enjoy fun, family-friendly activities while connecting with classmates and members of the community.

Community Resources

Families can meet community partners and learn about resources available to support children and households.

Free Food

Free food will be available as families enjoy an afternoon of connection, preparation and celebration.

Books to Read!

Students are encouraged to keep reading before the new school year begins. Students may receive a Chick-fil-A gift card based on the number of books they have read. Read more, earn more and get rewarded!

Student Reading Reward Chick-fil-A Gift Card Rewards are connected to the number of books read by participating students.

What Families Should Know

  • All advertised services and activities are being offered free of charge.
  • Services, supplies and rewards will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Availability may be limited, so families are encouraged to arrive early.
  • Children should attend with a parent, guardian or responsible adult.
  • Families are encouraged to stay, participate and enjoy the full event.
