Welcome to the Orchard Knob Elementry School Roaring Lions Developmental Physical Education Program!  Movement enhances Learning.  Therefore, all students are encouraged to exercise 60 minutes a day to promote fitness.  All students are asked to wear tennis shoes and come ready to "Work their Body."

Throughout the school year, we learn about healthy eating, physical fitness, the importance of eating breakfast and drinking 4 to 6 glasses of water daily. Internet Safety is taught to K-5th students in order for them to be safe while using the Internet system along with Bike and Pedestrian Safety taught by UTC Students. Safe Routes To School is conducted in October 2016.  Mayor Andy Berke, police officers and firemen walked with us.

Sports are introduced to all of our Pre-K - 5th students.  We have a Traverse Wall which allows our students to enhance upper body strength and flexibility.

We include the Math and Movement Program which helps with math skills. Students in 3rd, 4th and 5th Grades participate in a competitive Cross Country Meet which was held in October 2016.  We had about 20 participants.  Our Annual Track Meet will be held in May 2017.  In order for students to try-out for these teams, grades and behavior are first and foremost.  We enforce that athletes are student first.

But most of all, our motto is "Fitness is Fun."  With this in mind, they understand that physical fitness enhances academic success.  We want our students to be lifelong learners and productive citizens.
