2017-18 is my second year teaching at Orchard Knob Elementary, and my third year teaching overall.  I have always taught fifth grade, and I wouldn't have it any other way!

Hello!  I can't wait to get to know all of my new students this year, but first a little bit about me.

I was born in Wisconsin and grew up mostly in Illinois. I moved to Johnson City, Tennessee when I was in 8th grade.  After graduating high school I attended Maryville College in Maryville, TN.  While there I met my husband, David.  We were married in 2004 and settled in Knoxville, TN.  In 2005, we welcomed our first child, Jackson.  He is 12 years old and is a 7th grader.  I worked for the Department of Children's Services for 5 years before deciding to return to school for my Master's degree in teaching.  In 2011, we welcomed Evangeline (Evie), our daughter, who was adopted from a small country in East Africa called Rwanda. Evie is 6 years old and in first grade.  In 2013 we adopted our second son, Connor from the foster care system.  Connor is 8 years old and in the 2nd grade.  We also have a dog named Soldier and two cats named Savannah and Sophie.

We have a fun and busy family!  Jackson enjoys Boy Scouts and plays trombone in band. Connor loves football and gymnastics, and Evie loves to do cheerleading and gymnastics.  In my free time I love to read, cook, and take photographs. I also love to travel with my husband.  I have traveled to China, Vietnam, Rwanda, Kenya, Mexico, Belize, Honduras, and other beautiful places. My favorite place to be is Disney World!
