Bio

I am delighted to formally introduce myself. My name is Robbie Dillard and I have the awesome title as your child’s teacher for this school year. Although I am not new to teaching, I am new to all of you and I want you to get to know me better. I am a wife of 27 years and have 2 adult daughters and a 17 year old football and baseball phenomenon for a son. I have been an employee of Hamilton County Schools for more than 18 years. My previous jobs include classroom assistant in Pre-K, Kindergarten, CDC, and Head Start. I ran a state funded daycare in my home for 2 years. Most recently, I returned to school in 2006 to gain a bachelor’s degree in education and continued on to acquire a master’s of education. Since finishing school, I’ve taught 2 years in third grade, two years in fifth, and lastly, Pre -K. My love for teaching and leading children to understanding has sustained me through all of this; and brought me to this point. I simply love what I do; interacting with children of all ages.

Now that I am a part of the Orchard Knob Elementary family, I want to get right to work building relationships with my students and families. I believe learning can and should be fun and non-stressful for students and teachers. From my days as an assistant until now, I’ve been committed to making sure my students enjoy coming to school and always gaining knowledge. The classroom atmosphere that I create will be one of inquiry, discovery, interaction and excitement. You, the parents and guardians, are as important in this process as the teacher and students.

This year is already off to a grand start. The students are showing up ready to learn something new, and so am I. I am encouraged to give 100% to this new adventure. Please feel free to share any ideas, joys, concerns and the like; that will make this year most memorable. Thank you for your support.
