Ms. Davis', wonderful world of education.

As  a life-long learner, it is my dream to inspire all children to become interested in education, just as my teachers challenged and inspired me.

Making sure that ALL children are safe and cared for, has always been a desire.  My professional education spans from criminal/juvenile justice to social work with a concentration in pediatric/adolescent therapy. I have worked in many social service institutions from Adult alcohol/drug/psychiatric services, to adolescent level IV lock-up, then to Child Protective Services, and on to Geriatric therapy services.  I then discovered that through all of my academic/professional triumphs and pitfalls, God always brought me back to the children.  The yearning to be with children is what inspired me to return to school to become an educator.  I love this area SO much, that I think I will stay....For as long as they will have me :)

I was a little (red) girl, born in Gary, Indiana.  My parents have been a couple since they were in the eleventh grade.  I entered their lives as they graduated from Tennessee State A&T University.  My father went on to be a Chief Petty Officer in the US Navy, which afforded me the opportunity to grow up as a military brat in the Southern California Area (YAY or BAY AREA). He has since retired from a career of chemistry with a well-known energy center.  My mother, the mathematician, retired as a commercial loan officer for a major baking institution.  I am a big sister to a beautiful lady, whom I named Stacey.  My Stacey is very educated as well and works for the largest law firm in the southern region.  After college, I was married to a military staff seargent and became the mother of a highly energetic, talented, yet soft- spoken "man-child" named Torriq.  My military lifestyle afforded me vast opportunities to travel the world and visit a few continents.  As a child, I attended schools near a Naval Base, in California, which educated multicultural children called Amote' which means "of many cultures."  Upon moving to Chattanooga, I attended a Catholic school and excelled as a slightly above average student.  I participated in extra curricular activities such as: ballet, band, cheerleading, track, and softball.  I was always a very social teen who enjoyed skating, skateboarding, motorcycle riding, music, and reading as well as helping others.  My family raised us in church.  I received Jesus Christ as my personal Savior at a young age and was baptized  at Greater Tucker Missionay Baptist Church.  There I was the youth choir director and president on the youth usher board.  I also sang in the Mass choir and played girls softball.  I am a well rounded person, who continues to work with children on my job, in the community, as well as my church.  Being a 1983 graduate of THE Brainerd High School and many collegiate institutions; I welcome your child to the wonderful world of Exceptional Education.  As we explore and become familiar with learning and behavior styles; I will assist you and your child to the values and importance of successful thinking and learning.   Again welcome!  Please feel free to e-mail or contact me; anytime.
